Module 2 - Strengthening existing testing laboratories and supporting technical institutes
This module provides support to the National laboratories and Standards Institutes in setting the necessary standards and building their capacity so to meet those standards and attaining accreditation.
The specific activities of module 2 are:
- Supporting technical standardisation institutes or bureaux;
- Supporting testing laboratories;
- Supporting the Competent Authorities in drafting and implementing specific contaminants and residues monitoring and control plans;
- Long and short term training courses;
- Supply of equipment and materials;
- Setting up sub-regional professional networks;
- Advising on the necessary structural improvements to laboratories.
