The activities of the Programme

In order to attain the four expected results of the Programme, various activities have been identified.

These activities aim to set up a sustainable legislative, institutional, social and financial framework for inspection and health control of fishery products in both the public and private sectors. This framework must be equivalent to practice in Europe and the other principal markets.

The activities are presented in a modular form, each module corresponding to one expected result:

Competent Authorities:
Strengthening National health control capacity (generic activities and strengthening the Competent Authority and inspection services)

Strengthening existing testing laboratories and supporting technical institutes

Improving the level of industry compliance with sanitary conditions for export

Small-scale fisheries:
Improving the handling practices and infrastructure for small-scale fisheries
